Sarah Nixon is a visual storyteller raised in Benson, North Carolina and whose body of work includes illustration, photography, painting, video, and serving on documentary production teams.
Co-Director Dakota Hall is a nonfiction storyteller who has done various video and media work in Europe and Japan, and who is now reconnecting with her roots in North Carolina.
THE BENSON FIVE is a documentary about the 1968 Benson Affair, when five young black men sought to burn down their town’s KKK headquarters building in Benson, North Carolina, and the ways the memory of the event has lived on since.
